Divalicious Premier Salon - Valenzuela is part of a large and reputable chain of salons and is the first and only branch in Metro Manila, owned by a persevering and dedicated Valenzuelana. It provides salon services to all with a great team of stylists who are mostly Valenzuela City residents. One Valenzuela would usually bring some snacks whenever she undergoes a lengthy hair service like a rebond or having her hair colored. Other than having their own drinks, what is great about Divalicious Premier Salon - Valenzuela is that it also supports other food establishments within the area by allowing their customers to order from within the salon. For example, One Valenzuela was able to order a full meal from The Real Grill Burger, a homegrown burger joint in the city, which is a few meters from the salon.

Rebonding takes time but you won't get hungry! Eat well with The Real Grill's burgers. The meal will be delivered to you at Divalicious while you get the pampering that you deserve. 

5. The Salon Staff is Like Family

"Posibleng makakuha ka ng parehas na quality na hair results sa ibang salon pero yung experience na makasama mo yung staff ng Divalicious, maaaring hindi mo makita sa iba," One Valenzuela's salon buddy mentioned after going through the hair treatment. She saw the staff as a big family where you instantly belong like a dearly missed relative or a balikbayan who just came home to the country. They are very comfortable to be with. Other than the warm welcome of the salon team, their expertise in hair and nail care are also worth commending for they are long trained in the field.

It's a Date!: Pomodoro Pizza and Pasta Kitchen at Brgy. Dalandanan, Valenzuela City

Date nights call for new places to dine in. One Valenzuela and hubby rarely have these date nights recently, with a number of things going on in life. Searching for something new, Pomodoro Pizza and Pasta Kitchen came up on One Valenzuela's phone screen. After completing the grocery checklist at Puregold Dalandanan, off they went to Pomodoro. You won't miss it for it is just a few meters away from the grocery store's main entrance. 

Pomodoro Pizza and Pasta Kitchen is just a stone throw away from Puregold Dalandanan. One Valenzuela learned that the main goal why Pomodoro was established is to make people afford to eat good Italian-quality pizza and pasta more often.

Since One Valenzuela and her hubby were both satisfied with the veggie and fish themed dinner date that they had which was very affordable considering the taste (fresh and tasty) and the place (which was serenaded with songs that they like), she eventually learned more about Pomodoro Pizza and Pasta Kitchen by reaching out to the restaurant online. One Valenzuela learned that it first opened in Kapitolyo, Pasig City and that it has been operating for four years now. It was founded by a couple who left the corporate world to impact change in the food industry. To achieve this, they began to introduce Italian-quality pizza and pasta made affordable and available to many who come from different walks of life. After three years, the business expanded to different areas where good food is highly appreciated. The Valenzuela branch is a franchise outlet by the Aguilon Family who are locals of Valenzuela City. The Aguilons are loyal customers of the brand, with the matriarch saying that she has always dreamed of having her own pasta restaurant. "Here I am, now I [own one]," she said.

As of this writing, Pomodoro has been featured twice on media. The feature in ABS-CBN's My Puhunan increased their popularity. The Angeles branch of Pomodoro was also featured in GMA News TV's Pop Talk segment.

Want it spicy? Add chili flakes. Want more cheese? Add more parmesan cheese. Love these condiments!

What are the bestsellers? According to Pomodoro, favorites for pastas are Carbonara Cremosa, Meatballs Spaghetti, and Smoked Fish pasta. The pizza comes in two sizes: 10 inches and 12 inches. The pizza bestsellers are the Amanti dela Carne (All meat pizza), Specialle dela Casa (House Special Pizza) and Quattro Formaggi (Four Cheese pizza). The house blend iced tea is also said to be a crowd favorite, with some customers even wanting to "get a whole pitcher for take out".

One Valenzuela and hubby had an awesome time eating the Il Giardino pizza which was served hot from the oven. As can be seen in the photo below, the pizza rocks a beautiful golden crust and the vegetable toppings are pretty generous. On the other hand, the Smoked Fish pasta complemented the pizza. Hubby added some chili flakes to his pasta plate, making it a bit more spicy. Yum.

Il Giardino, 10 inches (Php169). It's a vegetable pizza which has the following toppings: tomatoes, olives, bellpepper, garlic, mushrooms, and mozzarella. You may also opt to remove the mozzarella to go full vegetarian. Unlike the typical crust that you get from mainstream pizza shops, the crust of Pomodoro is not that oily. One Valenzuela and hubby also bought and took home a box of Quattro Formaggi for Little One Valenzuela which she ate with gusto.

Smoked Fish pasta comes at Php109 a plate. It has fresh tomatoes that hubby loved.

Shoe Hunting at the World Balance Outlet Store in Valenzuela City

Summer is coming to an end and the traditional black shoe and rubber shoe hunt for schooling is now officially on. One of the places that One Valenzuela visited to shoe hunt is the World Balance Outlet Store in Dalandanan. It is not along McArthur Highway but you can easily spot it by its big and towering signage once you set foot in the said barangay.

You won't miss this signage when you are already traversing McArthur Highway in Barangay Dalandanan. Just look up!

Little One Valenzuela got a pair of EasySoft shoes from World Balance. She says it's comfortable to wear.

This World Balance store is conveniently open daily, even on Sundays. Learning that its products are 10% less than the mall price is also a big plus. You might even score a pair of sandals or two which are on sale when you visit the store.

A Foodie's Voyage at the Captains Yard

"Good food is all the sweeter with good friends". You already have your barkada in tow, so where do you grab some good chow? Tucked in G. Lazaro Street is Captains Yard, a 900 square meter food park which has a LOT of stalls to offer your group's varying palates. One Valenzuela visited Captains Yard several times to eatsplore food here and there. With 30 concessionaires, she believes you will not be able to try all of them on a single trip!

Almost all of the stalls were already open the last time she went to Captains Yard as it will be having its grand opening today, January 28, 2017, at 3:30pm. How to Get There via Public Transportation: Coming from Monumento, ride a jeepney/bus with signages which go beyond Malinta such as Malanday and IS Bangkal. You will pass by Puregold Valenzuela and an Iglesia ni Cristo Church. Along that side of the road, you will eventually see a 7-Eleven store. Traverse the street beside it (Lazaro St.). You may ride a tricycle but if you are used to walking, like One Valenzuela, it will only take 5-10 minutes and you will soon be there.
