Revisiting Le Rinell Resort at Brgy. Balangkas, Valenzuela City

Though summer is almost over, it is never too late for a dip in the pool. One Valenzuela was able to visit Le Rinell back in 2015 but was not lucky enough to check out the resort. This time around, she got the opportunity to go and have a look inside.

Le Rinell is named after the children of the Ocampo-Gonzales family (which hail from Malolos, Bulacan and from Bataan, respectively). It is a long standing resort for it has been open since 1994. Like most Filipino families, their family likes to swim. Thus, they would usually go out-of-town for reunions and gatherings. Their family then built a swimming pool for their own use. Eventually, they shared the fun they find in swimming by opening the place to the public.

The public pool of Le Rinell has two slides which are about 8 to 9 feet high. The resort has a total of two public pools: 1 main pool and 1 kiddie pool.

Here's the newly built private pool of Le Rinell Resort. Its pool is about 4 to 5 feet deep. The place can hold around 30 persons. It has its own shower, 2 comfort rooms, a kitchen, and a videoke (Php8,000.00). You can also rent the adjacent room which has 3 double deck beds (Php2,000.00).

How to reach Le Rinell Resort via public transportation: 

Option 1: If coming from Sangandaan, Caloocan City, you may ride a jeepney going to Polo. Get down at San Diego de Alcala Church. From there, you may walk your way to the resort or ride a pedicab. 

Option 2: If coming from Malanday,  ride a jeepney at the terminal which is bound to Obando/Polo. Again, get down at the San Diego  de Alcala Church then walk or ride a pedicab to the resort.

Like Being with Family: Ading's Resort of Brgy. Lingunan, Valenzuela City

Water is your best friend when summer comes around the corner. With school work almost over and the long vacation nearing, One Valenzuela visited a resort in Valenzuela City which you may want to take a dip in with your families and friends. 

Ading's, aptly named after the father of the family-owned resort, is located at Barangay Lingunan, Valenzuela City. The resort is already open to the public for two years now. It has three well-sized pools: one big pool with natural stones which keep the water warm even on cold night time swimming, another big pool which you typically see in most resorts, and a smaller pool for kids. All three pools have slides which is great for people who love taking the plunge!

One Valenzuela visited on a weekday afternoon this April, thus, not much people are around. Additionally, Ading's is prepping the pools in time for night swimming. This gave her more time to talk to the owners and go around the resort. Knowing that the pools are regularly cleaned is a big plus since the water of swimming pools should be monitored continuously to keep them fit for swimming, especially during summer when more people flock resorts to beat the heat. 

The natural pool has araal stones which absorb heat. These stones keep the pool water warm even at night and during the cold season. Ate Teresa says that guests love this pool even on the cold months of the year.

The big pools of Ading's Resort are 4 to 5 feet and 5 to 6 feet deep. 

The nipa huts at Ading's Resort are priced as follows: small nipa (Php500; Good for 10 persons), medium nipa (Php750; Good for 15 persons), and big nipa (Php1,500). For smaller groups, Ading's also has tables which go for Php300 each and is already good for 6 persons.

Having the chance to talk to the Barcelinos, One Valenzuela learned of their simple beginnings even before they had their water supply business and then eventually move towards building the Ading's Resort. Ate Teresa advised that we should give importance to the smallest centavo (pahalagahan ang sentimo) and remain humble. Talking with Ate Teresa of Ading's Resort gave One Valenzuela the impression of being with family, combining fun and comfort in one place.

How to Go to Ading's Resort (Via Public Transportation):

If you are coming from Malinta Exit, look for the ICALAPUPA TODA tricycle terminal at the Valenzuela Gateway Complex. The tricycle ride is about Php15.00 per person. 

If you are coming from McArthur Highway, ask the jeepney driver to drop you at Cuevas Bakery at Barangay Dalandanan (you will see a Mini Stop Convenient Store at the other side of the road). Look for the BVRL TODA tricycle terminal. The tricycle ride is about Php12.00 per person. 

Do note that the tricycles should drop you at the entrance gate of the Ading's Resort and should enter F. Dulalia Street (papasok sa loob ng F. Dulalia Street).

This store which has the Ading's Resort signage is your landmark to the street going to Ading's Resort. For those driving to the resort, the best landmark is the Lingunan National High School.

Santiago's Resort at Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela City

Though it is already raining this month of May and the country is already expecting a typhoon this week, One Valenzuela believes that it is still not too late for Valenzuelanos to take a dip at a nearby pool. For everyone's reference, here are some photos of Santiago's Resort which were taken around January. 

Fees for day time swimming are Php100 for adults and Php80 for kids. Night time swimming fee is Php150 for both adults and kids. View the image above for the rates of cottages and rooms.

Updates on Paraiso ni Baste at Canumay East, Valenzuela City

Paraiso ni Baste is developing beautifully. One Valenzuela has been frequenting this resort for a number of times now and she is so glad that it has maintained the quality of resort experience it offers to guests. Paraiso ni Baste Hotel Suites. One Valenzuela was given the opportunity to view one of the rooms. An overnight stay at one of their hotel suites costs Php2,500. What she loved about it? Well, the room is (1) very clean, (2) has modern features, and (3) has direct access to the pool area by using the back door. Sweet.

Paraiso ni Baste Pavilion. Looking for a place where to spend an important occasion such as a wedding, a 7th birthday, or a debut? Paraiso ni Baste now has pavilions which one can rent.

Wave Pool. One Valenzuela saw some on going construction at one side of the resort during an early January swim. A new addition to the resort this summer is the introduction of the wave ball.

Updates on the Resort's Rates and Reservation. Just last week, One Valenzuela learned that Paraiso ni Baste only takes reservations for its hotel suites and penthouse. One Valenzuela advises everyone to go here early because the resort observes the "First come, first serve" policy when it comes to kubo and cottage rental.

A motorcycle joyride brought One Valenzuela to Balangkas, Valenzuela City.  She saw a signage of Le Rinell Resort near the barangay hall of Balangkas.

Paraiso ni Baste at Canumay East, Valenzuela City: A Quick Getaway from the City in the City

Yehey! It is summer once again! For a quick respite from the sweltering heat, One Valenzuela and Little One Valenzuela woke up early on a Friday morning to swim and  have some fun at Paraiso ni Baste Resort. It is a fairly new getaway located at Canumay East. The resort had its soft opening last April 9, 2013. 

One Valenzuela has already asked for directions via Paraiso ni Baste's Facebook page a few months ago, thinking that she will have some free time during the last leg of the semester. Hehe, guess things did not go as expected and so she had to wait (and work, work,work) until the first week of April.

Here's where you pay for the entrance fee and cottage rental. You will also see that a large parking space is available.

There are several types of cottages available for visitors. Paraiso ni Baste has Tables, Cottages, Kubo, King Kubo, and Function Hall. One Valenzuela decided to get a table (Php300.00) since they do not need so much space. She chose a table which has a view of the kiddie pool and the middle pool.

Going around, One Valenzuela took several snapshots of the various cottages. It is a big plus to see a trash can and a metal rack in each one of them.  

Got a table which can accommodate 4 to 5 persons (Php300.00).  The staff were very helpful to the point where One Valenzuela no longer have to ask for help in adjusting the umbrella. They instantly came and offered their service.

Cottages which can accommodate 8 to 12 persons. One Valenzuela liked that there are trash cans and metal racks.  Lets you focus more on having a great time minus the hassle of  figuring out where the nearest trash bin is or where to put your wet stuff .

There are several life size animal and dinosaur statues in Paraiso ni Baste. Unlike other resorts which have their displays painted so-so, Paraiso ni Baste's statues look more real than One Valenzuela expected. You will also see small laminated cards with information beside the dinosaurs.

Once those vines grow a bit more, this pathway shall be covered with foliage and flowers.

Rules and regulations of the resort are placed in various areas to inform the visitors. Lifeguards and staff on duty, who wear yellow shirts,  are also visible. From time to time, some of them would check the cleanliness of the pool water and its surroundings.

Visitors are reminded to follow the rules and regulations imposed by the resort. These are actually very generic and are for everyone's safety as well as to maintain the resort's ambiance.

Paraiso ni Baste has three swimming pools. One for kids, another one built with batong buhay (that was how the lifeguard described it), and a lap pool. Manong  security guard said that Paraiso ni Baste will be building more pools in the future.

Little One Valenzuela stayed much of the time at the pool intended for children. Here, she practiced her flutter kicks in preparation for her swimming class the next day. She even taught her mom how to do some mermaid moves! Alona, is that you? 

Overall, mom and daughter really enjoyed their stay in the resort. One Valenzuela believes that Paraiso ni Baste has a lot more to offer in the near future. She highly recommends Valenzuelanos to visit the resort. After all, who doesn't want a quick escape from the city IN the city?

You may bring your own food in the resort. Grills are also available. Snacks such as siomai, siopao, popcorn, ice cream, cup noodles, etc. are sold at Paraiso ni Baste. Alcoholic beverages can also be bought here. There were some non-food items such as swimwear and accessories as well as some basic toiletries. 

They also have a loading station.

How to reach Paraiso ni Baste via Public Transportation:

Here is the response to One Valenzuela's query for commuting directions from Brgy. Malinta to the resort: "Sakay po kayo ng jeep papuntang Novaliches Bayan tapos sabihin ninyo sa driver na Metrobank Bagbaguin lang kayo. Pagdating ninyo po sa Metrobank, may terminal ng tricycle doon. Sakay po kayo at sabihin ninyo lang po na sa Paraiso ni Baste po kayo. " (Ride a jeepney going to Novaliches Bayan and tell the driver to drop you at Metrobank Bagbaguin. When you reach Metrobank, you will find a tricycle terminal. Ride one and tell the driver to bring you to Paraiso ni Baste.)

On your way home, you may walk a bit to the right of Paraiso ni Baste until you reach Canumay East Elementary School along D. Bonifacio Street to ride a tricycle going to Malinta Tollgate/Exit (Php10.00/head). Or, you can go back to Metrobank Bagbaguin at Php40.00 (special ride).
