The Real Grill Burger: Barangay Lingunan's Homegrown Pride Makes it Big

Valenzuela City witnessed the grand opening of a homegrown burger joint's second branch just last October 26. It can be recalled that The Real Grill Burger (TRG) began as a weekend go-to place for those who want some satisfying burgers to end the demanding work week. Tucked in Barangay Lingunan, many would find their way to the humble garage of the Delesmos to have their well known burgers with equally clever names like Inside-Out Cheese, BJ Binurger ni Jack Daniels, and Baconstroyer grilled burgers.

Engr. Lester Delesmo recollects that together with a friend who knows his way in the kitchen, "Three months kaming nag-try-out ng mga patty, kung paano makukuha ung perfect patty para sa amin. Nag-market study kami. Then yun na, nagstart na kaming magtayo ng isang maliit na burger joint sa garahe. It started with four tables." The demand for their burgers grew through time, having diners from various places even beyond Valenzuela City. Thus, getting a commercial place to serve more people eventually came to the plan.

The Real Grill Burger's owner, Engr. John Lester Delesmo, relates his experience in establishing the local restaurant. He shared that he works as an employee on weekdays and opens TRG on weekends at Brgy. Lingunan.

One Valenzuela was glad to be invited to witness the opening of TRG's second branch. It is now easier for everyone to grab a TRG burger or two, being located at the Arca Strip Building beside Puregold Dalandanan and being just a few meters walk away from McArthur Highway. The second branch of The Real Grill Burger has a trendy industrial lay-out, providing a welcoming and modern ambiance to the diners.

While waiting for the food to come, a plate of putong pulo was served (only for the Grand Opening day). Who wouldn't love TRG? It's supporting local!

Other than the grilled burger mainstays, solid followers of TRG as well as newcomers are encouraged to try out the new menu items in the full restaurant. The must try's are the Spicy Everwing (Php175, 6-piece Buffalo wings, inspired by the Facebook game), Peppa Pork BBQ (Php130, 3 sticks of barbecue with rice), Carbonara (Php150.00), Tequila Lime Chicken (Php155.00), The Real Fried Chicken (Php320, one whole chicken), and the smoothies.

The first to come on the table are the side dishes: Kesodilla (Php95) and Beef Kesodilla (Php150). Each plate has a salsa dip for sharing.

Lasagna lovers, you might want this. The TRG lasagna has loads of savory sauce (Php80).

Inside-Out Cheese Grilled Burger (Php110) is a bestseller! Bite into the patty and you'll see the mozzarella stretch! Add Php35 for the fries and drinks. Better yet, if you want to try all the patties, get the TRG All-In (Php270). It has the Inside-Out, Baconstroyer, and Jack Daniels patties in one serving!  

Sausage Party (Php120). Grilled spicy sausage with lots of ground beef toppings on a bun. 

One Valenzuela visited The Real Grill Burger again, this time, together with her family and siblings to celebrate their father's birthday yesterday (Thank you for the treat, Tatay!). Other than the burger meals and pasta, they also ordered Keso Frito (Php110.00) and Tequilla Lime Chicken (Php155.00). These two are both new additions to the menu and are worth your money because they are good. Masarap, period. 

If you want to eat rice, pair it with a plate of Tequilla Lime Chicken (Php155.00). Will try the The Real Fried Chicken with a bigger group next time.

It's that Pink Burger Place! Reyes Patty Burger at Brgy. Malinta, Valenzuela City

For people who have this insatiable craving for burgers and colorful things (specially those preferring hues of pink), it is time to celebrate! A new burger place has recently opened this June at a quiet street near the Old Valenzuela City Hall (now Valenzuela Hall of Justice). 

Reyes Patty Burger is a simple dining spot which can be easily recognized with the Hello Kitty-inspired tarpaulin signage that you will find near the Donesa Building. Some of One Valenzuela's friends who have eaten there have vouched that the burger patties were good and flavorful.

Have a chat with a friend or watch some tv as you wait for your orders to come.

Reyes Patty Burger serves their burger ala carte or as a meal (together with some fries and drinks). They have several varieties: the regular burger, cheese burger, bacon cheese burger, double cheese burger, and the double bacon cheese burger. Price range is from Php75 to Php185 for the ala carte and Php105 to Php215 for the burger meal. The patties are grilled and their buns have very cool colors too.

Other than the burgers, they also have buffalo wings (solo meal for Php120.00 and the family meal for Php320.00) for those who long for something spicy. For a sweet ending (or beginning, as One Valenzuela's case), you may get some buko pandan (Php30.00) or Cre-Mi-Chee (ice cream cake with marshmallows; similar to the graham cake; Php49.00). Other quick fixes in the menu are the nachos, fries, and some frappes. 

A closer look at the Double Cheese Burger meal. It has two good-sized grilled patties, tomato, lettuce, onion, and melted cheese. Mustard and pesto mayo complete the burger.

Bacon Cheese Burger meal (Php155.00). This burger bun rocks a cool red hue! Reyes Patty Burger's bun formulation is said to be premium and has been carefully developed according to their display in the dining area.

A good friend invited One Valenzuela to a food fest yesterday at Danding Drive, C.J. Santos Street, Poblacion II, Brgy. Malinta. It is her first time to hear of such an activity happening in Poblacion II and so she gladly accepted the invitation.

Grilled on the spot: Big Bad Burgers stall cooks MEAN burgers that will make you hungry real bad. Don't ever leave the food fest without tasting one.

No need to travel that far, grilled burger fanatics.

Grab a Bite! Lucky Garage Grilled Burger at Brgy. Pariancillo Villa, Valenzuela City

One Valenzuela has been eyeing to have one of Lucky Garage's grilled burgers since last April. After getting some free time from her commitments, she now had the chance to visit the place. Talk about being lucky!

She arrived an hour earlier than its regular opening hours and so One Valenzuela eatsplored a bit more around the nearby area (Ever Supermarket in Polo has new food establishments worth checking out) before going back to Pariancillo Villa. The once quiet place was now full of customers ordering and waiting for their burgers and fries!

See those burger patties grilling? Ay, the smell is so inviting!

The smell of the grilling patties near the entrance is very welcoming. One Valenzuela and her group were lucky enough to find a vacant table since there were really a lot of customers going in and out of the garage. Some would just place their orders of 6 to 8 burgers for takeaway and wait outside.

Chilled a bit with Garage Iced Tea (Php12.00) and Kanto Nachos (Php45.00) while the group is waiting for their burgers.

Bumblebee Cheese Grilled Burger (Php65.00) is made up of 100% pure beef  quarter pounder cheese patty, cheese sauce, tomato, cucumber, and lettuce. 

The burgers that they ordered were really good and tasty. The grilled patties were nice and juicy, complementing with the sweet and creamy cheese sauce.What is wonderful about Lucky Garage is that they also have other types of burgers to choose from. You want some bacon in your grilled burger? They have Rubicon. How about peanut sauce? Try their Peanut Beetle. Want some texas sauce? There's Turbo Texas. 

Worth the wait: The Evo Cheesy Aloha Grilled Burger (Php80.00) on the other hand has 100% pure beef quarter pounder patty, cheesy sauce, pineapple, cucumber, tomato, and lettuce.

Lucky Garage Grilled Burger is one proof that if you serve good food, location is no longer an issue. The customers will search and find you. This is a must try place for burgers when in Valenzuela City.

Spotted Some Good Tasting Grilled Burgers: Coal Spot, Brgy., Marulas, Valenzuela City

Barangay Marulas is fast becoming a foodie haven. After a long and tiring day at the Library, One Valenzuela opted to get a cold cup of milk tea there. And while traversing McArthur Highway, she found another good place to dine. Valenzuelanos, let us welcome Coal Spot in the city!

Coal Spot recently opened last February 27 (roughly ten days as of this writing) and their main staple are grilled burgers. It is the sister branch of Dapitan's Best Coal Grilled Burgers located in Manila.

One Valenzuela ordered their second to the largest burger, the Tap Out Burger (Php150.00), which can be sliced into four big quarters. The patty is very thick and juicy. The smokey flavor is a hit! It's like eating a huge Burger King at a very affordable price.

Burger goodness starts at Php55.00 for a quarter pounder.

Though the business owners were quite busy handling orders during One Valenzuela's visit, they shared the good news that their shop is warmly appreciated to the point that their stocks for three days was consumed within one day!
